헷갈리는 토익 (2) 상관접속사 수 일치, 비교급을 강조하는 부사

오늘은 문법에서 특히 토익에서 가장 빈출이 높고
잘 안다고 생각하지만 잘 잊어버리는 상관접속사 문법에 관해
포스팅해보려고 합니다. 저도 영어공부만 10년이 넘었지만
잘잊어버려 공부할겸 포스팅 해보는 시간을 가져보려구요

 

both A and B -> 복수동사
(A,B 둘다)
 
not only A but also B -> B에 수의일치,  
B as well as A -> B에 수의일치, 
(A뿐만 아니라 B도)

either A or B -> B에 수의일치,  
(A와 B 둘 중 하나)

neither A nor B -> A도 B도 아니다라는 뜻으로 B에 수의 일치를 합니다.

Whether A or B

not A but B -> B에 수의일치
(A가 아니라 B)

 

 

 

단, neither of, either of  뒤에는 복수명사나 대명사 단수동사와 복수동사가 올 수 있다고 합니다.

다만, 복수동사는 비격식적인 표현이긴 하지만 복수동사가 올 수 있다는 사실!!

Neither of them has / have a car
Neither (of them) is[are] mine.

1) neither of 복수명사 뒤 복수동사 쓰임

 

Neither of the sisters were very much deceived

No, neither of us have girlfriends right now.

Neither of us are responsible for his death

 

 

2) neither of 복수명사 뒤 단수동사 쓰임

Neither of them is politically oriented.

Luckily, neither of them was hurt in the crash.

Neither of them knows me
